Rarely do we see an actor become an action movie icon in two different generations and in two separate franchises. Back in the 90s, Keanu Reeves starred as Neo in the Matrix Franchise, a cyberpunk trilogy that has garnered a lot of acclaim and is perhaps one of the most influential movies of the 90s. In it, Neo is a hacker trapped in a simulated world run by machines who harvest humans for power. This coupled with his role in “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” pushed Keanu Reeves into stardom. However, Keanu wouldn’t be thrust into “A” tier status until he starred in John Wick in 2014, 15 or so years later. In John Wick Keanu plays the titular role and vows revenge after a man steals his car and kills his dog. Two iconic characters known for their incredible skills. What would happen if these two Keanu’s ever met or fought? Thanks to the huge success of the John Wick movies people have been talking about this hypothetical fight. Now you might be thinking “Well if they fought in the Matrix, John WIck is beat right?” Neo has the power to alter the very source code of the Matrix. He is basically a god in there right? Well John Wick has pulled off impossible stunts and tasks. He is clearly more than just a normal guy. Of course, taking Neo out of the Matrix wouldn’t make the fight any easier. Neo has all of human knowledge downloaded into his brain. Despite that, I still think John Wick can come out on top. Let’s look a little deeper into this shall we?
